Respond to a polling activity
Overview
When your instructor opens a polling activity during class, TeachFront may open a Polling Activity modal so you can submit answers. You do not start polls yourself; you respond when one is opened while you are connected to the course.
When a poll opens
- Stay signed in and open any page in the course (the app uses a live connection to detect opened polls).
- If you have not answered every question in the activity, the Polling Activity modal opens automatically.
- The modal loads your existing answers (the form may appear briefly blank while responses load).
Answer questions
- Read the question prompt and answer using the controls shown (for example multiple-choice buttons, a short-answer editor, or a word input).
- Select Submit when an answer is required before moving on.
- Use previous and next controls to move between questions in multi-question activities.
- On the last question, a successful submit shows a confirmation message; you may see an optional action to view the assignment.
When the instructor ends the poll, the modal closes automatically.
After you submit
- You can return to course work; the instructor sees aggregated results on the polling session.
- The Polling Activity modal is suppressed once you have answered all required questions. It will not reopen for that activity.
info
The modal suppression persists even after network reconnections—TeachFront remembers that you completed the activity.
Troubleshooting
| Situation | What to try |
|---|---|
| Modal never opens | Confirm you are on a course page while the instructor has an active poll; refresh and sign in again. |
| Submit stays disabled | Choose a required option or enter text before submitting. |
| Submit fails | Read the error message; retry. Check your network connection. |
| Modal closed unexpectedly | The instructor may have ended the activity; open the polling session from Assignments to review your row if shown. |
