Course dashboard

Overview​

The Course Dashboard helps you see course-level shortcuts—especially My Due Date Extensions when your instructor enables that feature. Day-to-day assignment work happens under the Assignments tab.

Before you start​

  • You must be enrolled in the course.
  • The Dashboard tab may appear only when due date extensions are enabled for the course. If you do not see it, use Assignments and other course tabs instead.

Open the dashboard​

  1. Open the course from your Dashboard.
  2. If Dashboard appears in the course menu, select it.

The page header is Course Dashboard.

Pending product decision (DEC-065)

When no dashboard shortcuts apply to you, TeachFront may show a plain empty-state message instead of option cards. Count labels may show loading while data hydrates. Final fallback copy for empty dashboards and count states is not decided — see DEC-065.

Dashboard options​

When extensions are enabled, you may see a Dashboard Options card such as:

  • My Due Date Extensions (with a pending count) — open your extension requests for the course.

Select the card to view and manage requests. For request steps, see Request a due date extension.

Assessment tasks and assignments​

Assessment Tasks views (All Tasks / My Tasks) on the dashboard are for the teaching team in TeachFront. As a student, use:

  • Assignments — view due dates, submit work, and open reassessments.
  • Calendar — see scheduled course events when your course uses the calendar tab.

If you follow a link meant for instructors, you may see an access restriction or an empty page.

Due Date Extensions page​

From the dashboard card or sidebar (when shown), the My Due Date Extension Requests table lists:

  • Assignment name, dates, your note, and status
  • Actions such as Request Extension for new requests

Statuses and columns match what your instructor configured for the course.
